How to get to Frankfurt (Oder)

Frankfurt (Oder) is located an hour east of Berlin close to the boarder to Poland. Participants of the conference thus need to fly to Berlin and journey on from there. Regional trains operate directly every 30 minutes between Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder).



Arriving by airplane in Berlin Tegel
From the airport Berlin Tegel participants take the JetExpressBus TXL leaving every 10 minutes. The bus goes to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and then continues on to Alexanderplatz. The travel time from the airport to Berlin Alexanderplatz is about 30 minutes. From both stations (Hauptbahnhof and Alexanderplatz) it is possible to hop on the regional train (RE1) going directly to Frankfurt (Oder).
Taxi stands are just outside the terminal building. The drivers should take you to the train station Zoologischer Garten. In some taxis you can also pay with credit card.



Arriving by airplane in Berlin Schönefeld
Participants can take the train AirportExpress Schönefeld to Berlin Ostbahnhof. The train leaves every 30 minutes and takes about 20 minutes. The train station Berlin Schönefeld is in 5 minutes walking distance from the terminal building. From the train station Berlin Ostbahnhof it is possible to hop on the regional train (RE1) going directly to Frankfurt (Oder).
Taxi stands are just outside the terminal building. The drivers should take you to Berlin Ostbahnhof. In some taxis you can also pay with credit card.

Journeying on to Frankfurt (Oder) by train
The regional train RE1 (direction Frankfurt (Oder) or Eisenhüttenstadt) leaves every 30 minutes from several major stations in Berlin. The trains leave from Berlin Zoologischer Garten, Friedrichstrasse, Alexanderplatz and Ostbahnhof and go directly to Frankfurt (Oder).  From Alexanderplatz the travel takes about 1 hour.
